Hunger for Love

Is it too much to ask for a mother to hold her own child, just for a moment?
To feel the warmth, the reassurance, the love that should come without asking?

Is it too much for a child to long for a simple conversation with their family?
To be heard, to be seen—not just as someone who exists, but as someone who matters?

Is it too much to hope that, for once, someone would set aside their own burdens, their own pain, just to make sure their child never feels unloved?

Love…
Why do so many seek it outside?
Why do hearts wander, yearning, searching—desperate to find in strangers what should have been given at home?

Maybe it’s because they never got that one gentle word, that one touch of comfort,
That one moment of validation from the very people they called their own.

Not everyone craves grand gestures or fairy-tale romance.
Sometimes, they just want to feel beloved.
To know they are wanted.
To believe, even for a second, that they matter.

This Valentine’s Day, don’t just say “I love you” to your partner.
Say it to your parents, your siblings, your friends.
Say it to the ones who silently wonder if they’re worth loving.

Because sometimes, the simplest words, the smallest gestures,
Can mend a heart that’s been breaking for far too long.
